The facade design for the construction is divided into two blocks, a dark block and a light block, respectively representing the two elements of "yin" and "yang" in Tai Chi. These two blocks stand in opposition and also in mutual harmony to each other, and are integrated to become a complete whole. The construction concurrently integrates the aesthetic concepts in the work "Tai Chi" by sculptor Zhu Ming, who uses clean and crisp lines as well as three-dimensional cutting methods in this work. Hence, the clean and crisp lines are reflected in the architectural design to give the block a strong three-dimensional effect, signifying the strength and beauty in the movement of raising one's hand, lifting one's foot or that of the kicking action in the "Tai Chi" sculpture.
