Professor Renke He, born in 1958, studied civil engineering and architecture at Hunan University. In 1987 and 1988, he was a visiting scholar at the Industrial Design Department of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen and, from 1998 to 1999, at North Carolina State University’s College of Design. Today, Renke He is a professor at Hunan University’s School of Design and director of the Chinese Industrial Design Education Committee. During his time as dean of the School of Design at Hunan University, he proposed the design teaching idea of “students create content” based on the teaching characteristics in the Internet age, developed a number of national quality courses and led multiple educational reform projects. He has been rewarded for his work with numerous awards.

Above and beyond his teaching activity, Renke He serves as vice-chair of the China Industrial Design Association, director of China’s Industrial Design Education Committee and director of the China-Italy Design and Innovation Center in Hunan.
